Biography.
Born in Brighton. My Mothers side of the family have always been artistic.
My Mother (Janice Thompson) was a professional artist and my Grandmother was an
Art Dealer. I started drawing at an early age.
I studied Art at Northbrook College in Worthing obtaining a General Art and Design degree. I
have now been selling pictures as a professional for 5 years at all over Sussex.I am currently exhibiting at the Jag Gallery in Brighton, The Gallery Bistro in Hove and The Astarte Gallery in Petworth.I have also been painting commissions for the past 5 years of various farmyard animals etc.
My preferred medium are Oils. Acrylics are great for their quick drying properties and for painting colours over large areas. Oils have a wonderful depth to their colours
and they are great for blending.
I think sheep are fun. They have a lot of character in their faces and look happy
most of the time. I find that they have an almost mystical quality about them. Not only
that but they have saved the English economy on more than one occasion. Sheep get a
lot of flak. A typical comment being “acting like a bunch of sheep” sheep are clever.
Sheep have to endure harsh weathers. They lose their lambs every year to our ovens.
they should get some respect. Alpacas are my second choice of subject. I find alpacas
fascinating. They have an almost alien quality to them and they look ridiculous.
I get my inspiration from artists such as George Stubbs, Francis Bacon and Howard
Hodgkins.
Commissions are available on request.
